Why do Airbnb remove the cleaning fees when the number of guests change?

A couple of times now I have changed the number of guests coming. The charge should stay the same as I don't have an extra cost for additional guests. However everytime i do this the cleaning fee is removed. My cleaner gets paid directly from Airbnb but several times she hasn't been paid because I the fee has been cancelled somehow. Why does this happen?

@Nicola163  When you modify a reservation, the instructions are that you have to enter all the fees that apply.  Air BNB doesn't add these fees automatically during the modification process.
