You definitely can, it's your house after all. Just make sure you don't give a surprise visit. I've heard of hosts who make excuses like they had to pick something from the house or check if the exhaust or something else was working fine and then quickly inspect the house while pretending to be taking their stuff or inspecting the exhaust.

But the best way is to have a word with the guests, tell them that you'd like to do a routine check of the place to ensure everything was fine and if any cleaning was required. Fix a time to visit. And take a good look.

Hello

I currently have a guest with a reservation for a month. They're about 3 weeks in and will be checking out before the next trash day.

They have an ABUNDANCE of trash including a bed they purchased completely piled on the front porch! 

Can I request to do a routine inspection based on these circumstances?
