cancellation penalty when guest requests?

I accidently didn't have dates blocked off in October 2017 and got an instabook.  I explained to the guest and they sent a cancellation request.  I didn't get a penalty as I haven't had to cancel, but it says I'm still not eligible for superhost for a year? Even though they sent the cancellation request?

Guests do not have to ask your permission to cancel, they can cancel themselves or ask you to cancel on your behalf.

It sounds like you would be better removing Instant Book so you can consider each request before confirming until you are more familiar with how Airbnb works and have your calendar sorted out.

 

If you have been told you won't have Superhost status for a year, then you have been penalised. You probably got a message from Airbnb saying the guest had notified them that you requested them to cancel. You accepted that this was true. Airbnb have imposed penalties. You will probably also find the dates blocked in your calendar.
