instant book and response rate

I have an 88% response rate (mostly remnants of when I first started hosting and didn't quite get the flow). It has been trending up since those times but after I turned on instant book recently it is no longer getting updated. The AirBnB help article suggests instant book impacts the response rate (see below), but it doesn't look like it is directly calculated. Anyone know what happens?
