vat verification

I have a spanish registered business associated with our hosted property. The verification process of my VAT ID is never finalised....how can I get verified? Several times I have removed the VAT number and re-inserted it but to no avail. As such I am unable to present official invoices to claim back VAT in my monthly accounts!
