So we just found out about a Melbourne start up that might be useful to some hosts:

We've been actually running our rooms this way with an helper in exchange for accomodation. We found our helper via facebook but it's nice to see a website dedicated to room exchange, founded in Melbourne no less, and it's a very smart way to go about things since it didn't increase our cost noticeably (central heating heats up the whole house anyways).
