Thanks to the Australian website, Host Hacks, you can download a useful spreadsheet/checklist for your personal property.  This was created for insurance purposes, but it can be used for Business Personal Property Tax reporting purposes also (Form 571-R). 

Inventory your personal property once, then just update whenever you buy something new.
