Airbnb photo team not paying me for services complete over a month ago

I’ve shot 3 listings a month ago for a total of $500 owed to me.

I started by sending a few reminder emails after a couple weeks, just kept hearing the payments are “backlogged” by 3 weeks I got an email saying they won’t go through until after new year (another 2 weeks).

at this point I have sent several very furious emails, and I have stopped getting responses all together.

I have looked at all 3 listings. All three of them have photos live, and have had photos live for weeks.

2 of the listings have disappeared from my “payment pending” page, both were payments for $180.

Needless to say I am furious at this point.

Where is my money for listings-

42687028
and

50746881

I’m now reduced to posting on the public community forum for answers as I CANNOT CONTACT ANYONE.

Hi @Jessica1877, thanks for the tag. Would you be able to provide me with a short summary so that I can pass this on to the team?

@Quincy Thanks so much for responding I appreciate you taking the time. About an hour after I posted here I got a message stating they were sending out payments in batches and that my first one is on the way. As long as that's true I think I am good. Thanks again.

Thanks for tagging me @Vince2216, I'm so sorry to hear about this. I will let our team know about this, though please note that I can't look into case specific info as I'm not part of the customer service team.

Though with that said, I'll do my best to chase the team for you!

Thank you

It took nearly 5 months, but my payments finally got sent today.

I’m glad they finally came through, but that is completely unacceptable.
Until someone from the photo team can contact me directly instead of sending copied messages, I will continue to accept these shoot requests. I will not schedule them until I have assurance the payments won’t get held in limbo for 4 1/2 months again. While airbnb keeps making money with the assets I provided.

”As a token of our appreciation we have increased the payout by 20%”

Of course I like the increase.. I won’t turn down more money.. but “a token of our appreciation”… really?

Should have been “we are extremely sorry we still haven’t got back to you, and held the payments for your services for **bleep** near half a year and randomly decided to send them out”

@David8446  I'm glad you got paid finally, but I don't quite understand why you would continue working for a company that didn't pay you for completed work for 4 and a half months, only responded like robots, and never even apologized.

What makes you think anything will change?

@Sarah977 I haven’t done a shoot for them since this issue. I continued to engage only because they owed me money and I wasn’t going to walk away from that.
I will continue to accept shoot requests and hold them in limbo, not scheduling or shooting them until I get an actual response from the photo team assuring me the issue has been addressed.

Also, I have been doing this for a few years for airbnb now and this issue only started the last year. When it was working smoothly, it was a great extra income getting an extra $500 every couple weeks!

if it could get back to how it was that would be awesome. I’ve been told numerous times there are only 2 people on the entire photo team.. I’m waiting to see if they hire more than two people to run it and maybe it will work better and I can actually get personalized responses.

@David8446  I assume you also advertise your photography business in other ways? Seems like there would be plenty of hosts who would pay privately for a photographer who is experienced in short term rental photo shoots.

@Sarah977  I appreciate the responses. I am a full time real estate photographer, so I shoot houses all day every day outside of airbnb. This is just one of my “side gigs”. So I do shoots privately, and don’t have any issues getting a lot of work. It’s just this specific work through airbnb where I am having issues.

I’m close $6000 in the hole and sent emails to the corporate team outlining California labor laws and independent contractor rights. Yesterday I received a response to an email I sent to the “team” refusing to fix some mixed up assets until I was paid. I was told their records indicated that I was paid up date which is conflicting from an email two days prior. The ironic part of all this is i ended up working directly with them after flipping out on the third party company I was contacting for a year ago that was doing the same thing and tweeted Airbnb enraged at the situation. From all my experiences, I gather that, like every other department, they are contracting out payroll overseas and it’s not being managed properly. If you are still having issues, I’d like to connect.

Hi @Lydia544 ,

Would you be able to give some more information regarding which listing photography you think you have not been paid for yet?

It will help to elaborate on your concern to the related team as well!

Please @ me so that I can notice your response and raise it for you!
