Why has Airbnb stopped me using the app on my iPhone because it is an iPhone6s? This decision excludes people, and is not fair or necessary. I don’t need to buy a new phone for any other reason, and to use the laptop version on the website is awkward and sometimes impossible.
Please could you send my complaint higher up in your decision making process?
Airbnb users in the same position have not been given any reason or notice.
When other app providers can accommodate users of older phones why is Airbnb an outlier on this issue? Has a deal been made with Apple to encourage iPhone sales?
If I had been travelling when this change was brought in, it could have been extremely awkward, unsafe and expensive. I don’t travel with a laptop for good reason.
All in all this practice is discriminatory and plain wrong. I will be thinking carefully about leaving Airbnb as a result and seeking alternatives.
