I'm in tier 2 ,but have a booking 24th dec which has now gone into tier 4, they have a strict refund policy .
Due to the fact that they are tier 4 and will have to close down would I recieve a refund? I have messaged the host who hasnt replied to 3 messages now.
I"m not privy to how the process is working in the UK, which seems to be a bit different, but I'll comment to get your question out so it can be seen by UK hosts @Samantha784
Thank you so much. It's so difficult to know how it works,I feel for the hosts completely but unfortunately cannot afford to lose out on 900 for accomadation I cant go to because it's not even legally open .appreciate you get my question out there. Thanks again🙂
@Samantha784 They can't legally host you and you can't legally travel to the property. Which of you is at fault? Simple answer is neither. If you google 'frustrated contracts Edward VIII' you will learn all about it.
What should happen is the host (and Airbnb) fully refund your money. I suggest you learn the law from the google search above and then contact Airbnb for a full refund. If they refuse then try again with a different agent. The host should really help you in this situation but they may not.....
Failing everything its a small claims court claim against Airbnb.
