Cleaning fee

Hello. I have some confusion around how the cleaning fees work. I have a fee on my listing of $65. Where do I go to collect these funds as I have been paying for cleaners using a website

Hello @Jay2697

I've just been onto your listing to check that this fee is showing up in the reservation part and I'm afraid it's not. No cleaning fee is being charged to guests so this leaves you out of pocket I'm afraid. ( I tried a two night stay in December)  The usual practice is that it shows up here and the guest is charged for the cleaning and Airbnb pays you the amount plus the nightly rate 24 hours after the guest has checked in (minus their commission of course)

To enter your cleaning fee you need to go onto your calendar.

==>Under settings, make sure you're on pricing

==>Scroll all the way down to additional charges

==>Fees and select cleaning fee.  If you have a minimum stay on 1 or 2 nights, enter a charge here.  SAVE.  For longer stays, you need to add another cleaning fee which has to be higher than the 1-2 day cleaning charge.  Just one extra $ will do the trick and again press SAVE.

Go back onto your listing as a guest to check that this has been correctly set up.

Good luck and let us know how you get on

Hi Jay,

As an Airbnb host, the $65 cleaning fee you've set is included in the total amount guests pay when booking your property. This fee is designed to cover the expenses associated with preparing your space for new guests, such as cleaning supplies, laundry services, or professional cleaning services.

When a guest books your listing, Airbnb collects the total payment, which includes the nightly rate, cleaning fee, and any additional charges. After the guest checks in, Airbnb processes your payout, which encompasses the nightly rate plus any extra charges (like the cleaning fee), minus Airbnb's host service fee.

To receive these funds, ensure that your payout method is correctly set up in your Airbnb account:

  1. Log into your Airbnb account.
  2. Navigate to your account settings.
  3. Select the "Payments & Payouts" section.
  4. Add or verify your preferred payout method (e.g., bank transfer, PayPal).

Once your payout method is configured, Airbnb will automatically transfer your earnings, including the cleaning fee, after each guest checks in. You can view the details of each payout in the "Transaction History" section of your account.

By ensuring your payout settings are correctly configured, you'll receive the cleaning fee along with your other earnings, helping to offset the costs of maintaining your property.

I hope this helps.

All the best,
