Do Host ever trade places out or give each other discounts?

No! Once you do this they will get comfortable, think you are your friend and then treat your property like their own and this is when things get bad. I treat every guest as a guest/business is business. I have another host that comes regularly at my place and wants a discount because she always arrives late in the night and my check in hours are in the a.m. - she thinks that because she doesn't check-in in the a.m. that she should get a discount. I had to remind her that it reads per night. That shut her up quick and she still continues to stay with me and leaves great reviews lol.
