FLORIDA LAW SB 1084 regarding Emotional Support Animals

FLORIDA LAW SB 1084 regarding Emotional Support Animals

Has anyone had any experience with this law?  Apparently, it went into effect on 07/01/2020 but the site guidance regarding Service Animals (https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/1869/accessibility-policy) has not been amended to reference FL SB1084.

Just curious if

(a) the site's compliance team is unaware of the new law,

(b) they are aware but have found it not applicable to vacation rentals or

(c) they are aware but are leaving it to the owners to determine appropriate performance under the law?

I appreciate any insight anyone may be willing to provide.

Per my conversation with support, the Florida law and possibly laws for other states are known but they are leaving it to individual owners to research and determine compliance.

Therefore, we can't just rely on the Accessibility Policy cited in my earlier post.  Everyone needs to check their local laws to determine what is required in terms of Emotional Support Animals.

@Chuck-And-Karen1 thank you for the update! Local laws and regulations can differ quite a bit so it's hard to make a policy that applies wherever you are. It's always a good idea to also check what your local laws are on the topic.
