Host stolen from guest

Hello have anyone had similar situation were the host stolen something from the airbnb while they were away? And what was airbnb response?

We were in Milano for couple of days and after we left the airbnb we found that our camera and two lenses are not there in the camera bag. We were suspecting that we might have forgotten it back home and we came back last night and checked it wasn’t there, and that was the only reason we didn’t report it directly to airbnb. Have someone had similar issues and were you able to retrieve your stolen item or paid by airbnb? The host denied it and they were defensive which confirms our suspicions that her son took them. He knew that we were going away for half day to como lake and I think he used this chance to go to the apartment and stolen the camera and lenses which are worth 10k$.

@Hedaya0 without a police report you are not going to succeed in a claim either from Airbnb or your insurance company I am afraid.

Unfortunately we don’t have the police report because we left milan before finding out it wasn’t there

I would use the police report you will have made to make a claim on your travel insurance @Hedaya0

Then I'm afraid there is little you can do as you have no proof as to where the items went missing from and have no travel insurance for you to make a claim against @Hedaya0
