How Do You Attract Race Fans to Your Airbnb?

Hi fellow hosts,

I’m curious to learn from others who host guests around race weekends. I know there are many people who come to town for major races, and I’m exploring ways to make my property more appealing to that type of guest.

Do you do anything special during race weekends?

• Do you offer specific amenities or packages for race fans?
• How do you adjust your marketing to attract racing enthusiasts?
• Any fun, creative touches you add to make their stay more memorable?

I’ve seen ideas about race-themed welcome kits, local guidebooks for the area, or even hosting watch parties on-site, but I’m wondering if anyone has tried these or has better ideas.

I’m also curious how far in advance you start marketing your property for big race events. Do you raise prices? Do you list your availability earlier than usual?

@Oscar1320 I am not at a location with races but we have a big marathon, a big music festival and a couple of other specialty events.

In terms of pricing- yes! I raise my rates for those dates well in advance as they do get booked well in advance. I am prepared to lower them about a month out if I happen to remain unbooked although for those big events it has not happened.

I have never done anything special to market anything. If you highlight your proximity to the venue or public transportation, it should do the trick. I do not think someone will choose your place over someone else's because of merch. People look at prices and amenities.

If you do have someone stay who you know when to the race, ask them to highlight that in the review "I was in town for the race and Oscar's place was perfect because..." Those reviews might be your best advertisement.
