Hi @Toni6777 😊

Did you already find an insurance company?

I mention hosts from California, they will probably know how to help you: @Heidy14@Susie0@Helen56 and @Tokunbo0.

Another option would be to connect with people in your area through our 👉 Local Host Clubs and ask them if they know of an insurance company for your home.

Warm regards🌻,

Not familiar with the California insurance market but I hear it's very hard to get coverage in general as many companies are leaving the California market. Maybe @Kitty-and-Creek0 can offer some ideas?

We have STR business coverage from State Farm. Our State Farm policy began in 1982 and we've been extremely fortunate to maintain it against all odds. Only a year or two ago they added the possibility of a STR business policy, and only at the time when the broader policy is up for renewal. They insure our home, ranch, vehicles, rental houses and our STR. We are inspected for fire safety regularly by the company, and must abide by their mandates. Just FYI our already expensive insurance bill doubled last year and doubled again for this year. We expect it will continue to get more costly every annual renewal. Not for the faint of heart.

Wow! I am hearing the same about double-digit increases in premiums in parts of Washington too. 😒

@Joan2709

That does not surprise me. Insurance companies used to be so very profitable, not as much, any more. What we gross (not net) from hosting almost pays for either our insurance or our property taxes. If we did not love hosting like we do, we'd likely not put in the considerable amount of work necessary. But we definitely love it!

True!

thank you for your input!
