Why does AirBnB allow hosts to platform units that do not have local government approval to exist? For instance, units that have no certificates of occupancy as required by their local jurisdictions are allowed to be platformed. What does this say about AirBnB's commitment to Guest/neighborhood safety? Units without valid permits through a locale's Planning & Zoning department are non-compliant and have not been inspected for safety. In particular, Unit D at this location was wholly constructed without permits and is not on the County of Alameda's radar as existing.

Imagine being a Guest and the gas lines have not been inspected/approved? If there's a gas leak/rupture or electrical fire, who is liable when AirBnB knows that the property is in code violation but platforms the units anyway?

How exactly would Airbnb know what is the latest regulations in any particular place in this wide world?  And imagine that local laws are constantly changing. In fact when a non-compliant place appears on Airbnb is how local enforcers find out who is compliant and isn't. Airbnb is just an advertising agency of places people are renting.
