I am confused about the MAT in my area. The City of Kingston says that AIRBNB does not collect and remit taxes for us, but we have some grouaps that paid 16 per cent occupancy ttax, and some who paid nothing.
@Adam1767 You can set up your listing to add a tax line item to your guest’s booking invoice. That is the way you collect the taxes and remit them yourself. Make sure that Airbnb Professional Tools is enabled in order to get the setting to set the tax amount.
The hosts that are not collecting taxes probably don’t know about the Professional Tools toggle, or perhaps they don’t know the tax law requirements for your jurisdiction.
