No option to turn on Smart Pricing

When I go to pricing, I have no option to turn on Smart Pricing. All I can do is change the base price. I reported this to Airbnb and they said it is a technical issue affecting some listings, and their technical team are working on it. This was a month ago and I have heard nothing. However, I can see other hosts posting exactly the same issue for at least 2.5 years, so presumably Airbnb would have fixed it by now if they wanted to. Why would Airbnb deliberately deactivate the smart pricing option for some listings? Perhaps in some areas they need some hosts doing manual pricing for their AI to analyse? Or they are doing some multivariate testing? Any ideas?
