Review Down To The Minute

I recently had a bad experience with airbnb and  wondering how I can leave an hints review without receiving unfair retaliation. I’ve read that you can write a review timed to the minute on when the 14 day period ends, so that the other person will miss the window to write their own. Horrible to have to scheme like this but unfortunately it was an abnormal situation.

My question is how do I know the exact time that this window will close? For example, if the checkout was Oct 6 at noon does that mean that the window will close on Oct 20 at exactly noon?

Appreciate any clarification. Thanks!

@Dessa39  I've done this on rare occasions, when I had a not so great experience with guests and I didn't want to leave an early review as it would prompt them to leave one.

If you go into your messages page (inbox) and you pull up messages you've exchanged with this guests, the window on the right shows the reservation details. After they check out, a timer sort of starts in that window. At first, it's not entirely clear, but as the days pass and AirBnB keeps telling you to leave a review, it will start to tell you how many days you have left to leave one. As the last day approaches, it turns into hours and minutes left to leave a review. You have to keep refreshing the page to have that be accurate. It's been a while since I've done it, but that's the advice when I came to the CC to ask the same thing. I hope you can figure it out. Good luck!

@Dessa39 Your review is not shown until after 14 days or when the other party reviews you. As such you don't need o worry about retaliation.

@Kia272  That is so deliciously devious! Love it. 😎

@Fred13 It's something I learned here in the CC! I've only had to do it once or twice, but it's a good tactic if you're uneasy about what kind of review a guest is going to leave AND they haven't left  a review very soon after checking out.

I had to get those instructions to find the counter-clock as well.
