Service fee

Hello,

I am new to Airbnb and I have noticed, that some of the hosts pays the extra service fee instead the client. How can I make that happened.? I think it seems more interesting for client to rent  when not paying anything extra.

Good question. No cancellations yet. 

I don't know, but if history is any guide, it's more often the host that takes the hit. I suspect it's the most likely outcome in this case. 

But... If the guest is booked, they've paid. If they cancel, I would expect that Airbnb could (would?) Deduct it from their refund?

@Elaine701  Okay, but if the guest's booking doesn't show a service fee, because the host is paying it, and it's included in the nightly total, wouldn't guests be up in arms if Airbnb deducts it from their refund when the guest can't see a separate service fee listed at all?

Presumably so! But I really don't know. We'll see...
