Thoughts on offering a discount for 3 nights or more
Hi fellow Airbnb hosts, I would like to know you personal experience or thoughts on offering a discount for stays of 3 nights or more ? Will it attract more bookings or is it forfeiting profit ?
Price is certainly a factor in some locations, really depends how much demand there is in your area for your type of listing and how sizeable the discount.
Most people only discount for seven night periods or one month @Ros52
I think it depends on your local market. The standard where we are appears to be 3 or 4 night bookings so we try to incentivise people to stay for 7 days+ with a discount. If your norm is single night bookings then perhaps a discount makes sense or alternatively add a 3 day minimum stay.
I no longer offer discounts for length of stay. I dont think it helps my booking numbers.
I do offer Airbnb custom discount promotions for periods I select. It seems to get better traction and more bookings. The fact that Airbnb helps market those dates is a big help and gets more views of my listing and more stays.
@Ros52 I have a 3 night minimum stay, so if I offered a discount, everyone would get one! My max stay is 2 weeks, and I don't offer any discounts at all. However, my listing is fairly budget-priced, so I can understand hosts whose listings are rather pricey offering 1 week or monthly discounts. No one else knows what your expenses are, so only you can figure out at what price point you wouldn't be profiting enough to make it worthwhile.
