What type of marketing and self promotion?

Hello. Really curious how many folks do a lot of marketing for their listing, or do they rely on the Airbnb SEO instead?

@Adamjake0 I don't have a property in a vacation destination like SF, which I assume needs less marketing.

I have one not in a prime location that I do some marketing for. It includes listing on other sites and approaching hospitals in that area to get a 1-3 months (Mid-term rental). So far it has worked. I still handle communication and payments through AirBNB.

Awesome to hear, thank you @Fariza2 ! Yes I was wondering/planning on messaging at some local groups, since we are in a less commercial area of San Francisco. I also like the idea of going to hospitals for longer term. Is your target traveling nurses and staff, or more of patients' families? and any tips for someone trying to do the same thing?

@Adamjake0 That was my plan to find travel nurses.. because that's what I saw on YouTube. Instead I got some contacts from the HR for people moving to the area that are waiting for their new home to complete. That's how I got my home booked for a few months.

I also listed on Zillow as fully furnished. I received a few inquiries, including third parties that work with insurance companies to find temporary housing. The property wasn't available at the time, but now I have contacts.

Additionally, I listed on smaller community-specific sites. There was no interest but the point is I did several things to generate interest and did not rely solely on AirBNB.

Word of mouth is also helpful. I asked friends and family to spread the word. There was no interest initially, but after 3 months, friends of friends started asking to book.
