new short term rental laws in the town of lenox, canastota ny

Hi, I just wanted to reach out. I am new to this community and am not sure if anyone impacted will actually see this. Just wanted to let hosts know that a new law passed in the town of lenox, canastota ny that impacts short term rentals. There are a lot of new rules and regulations concerning short term rentals including licensing. This passed on November 13th 2023 and short term rental owners have a period of 4 months to comply. I am writing this as anyone that I know has no idea that this has happened and hope to make others aware.

Thank you for posting. I am currently in the town of Sullivan and they are trying to implent the regulations of the town of lenox and I just dont see how that is going to work when our county had an almost 10% tax increase (largest in history). Reducing tourism will only lower the sales tax levy and increase our taxes even more.
