Booking Setting Requires Govt Issued ID but Receiving Bookings without It

Hello all! I'm a new host with my very first guests checking out today.  When setting up my listing, I selected that guests are required to have government issued ID.  As someone that has never hosted before, I assumed this meant that I would only receive instant bookings AND booking requests from guests that have provided Airbnb with an ID.  I have had 25 reservations in about a week and am noticing that many of the peple I've accepted have only provided an e-mail or phone number or both.  I'm freaking out a little.  I have all of these accepted reservations, with no way to know if their identiy has been checked by Airbnb.  Can I ask these guests for a copy of their ID even though I don't have that as a requirement in my listing?  I reached out to them via message, but have not received an answer back, so I thought I'd see what the community has to say.  Thank you in advance for your help!

@Reagen0:
Welcome to Airbnb! It is my understanding that Airbnb does not require government ID anymore for a guest's first booking. While your setting may be a requirement, Airbnb may be overlooking it due to the change in their policy.

However, just to confirm, from your calendar page in the admin panel, click the link, "Booking settings," located at the top right of the calendar. "How Guests Can Book" should be set to , "Guests who meet all your requirements can book instantly. Others will need to send a reservation request." The option under "Guest Requirements" for government ID should also be ticked.

@Reagen0,  this just happened to me 2 days ago. I have government ID set but a guest was able to instant booking without one. I am still going to take the guest but I contacted Airbnb just to see what was going on. Customer Service told me it was a glitch and assured me that this guest did in fact upload a government ID but it was not showing on their profile for some reason. They were going to pass it along to tech support. I think this is a new thing that is happening as it hasn’t happened to me before.

Also, makre sure this little box is clicked:

I recently started hosting and have instant booking and government-issued ID as a requirement to stay at my home. Airbnb, however, continues to allow guests to book who do not have government-issued ID. I then have to waste time communicating with the guest as well as Airbnb to resolve the problem. Is anyone else having this problem? How did you resolve it?
