Cannot answer to messages

I have received a message from my host for my summer trip and when I click the answer button and want to write back it is inactive. Is that a problem that I share with anyone and is there an easy solution to it? I tested this on two computers and use Chrome as a browser.

 I use Chrome too, but I first type the answer and then click the Answer-button to sent it.

There should be an empty box just above the message your host sent. Fill it in and press Send.
