Coronavirus

I am sheilding and have booked a holiday in France for August, I really feel worried about going.  I really can not afford to lose my deposit for cancelling the holiday, but the government has not said how long I will be sheilding for and whether foreign travel will even happen this summer. What can I do?

Hi @Geraldine261 - assuming you booked your trip before the pandemic, you'll likely be able to get a refund if the extenuating policy is extended. Right now it covers until the end of June, so it would be too early for you to cancel. While August sound like a long way away, I wouldn't be confident you'll be able to travel, shielding or otherwise.

It's effectively a waiting game now.

That said, your travel insurance should cover you if everything else fails.
