Hello All,
I have beed trying to add the reviews badge on my wordpress website. I copy the HTML code from my Airbnb account and past it into either a text widget or an HTML widget on one of the sidebars in my personal website.
When I reload the page i placed it in the word ´reviews´shows up and then disappears. Thus I am left with just a blank space.
I read here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-insert-tripadvisor-widget?replies=10
That wordpress doesn´t allow any script because they can be malicious.
Do you know if Airbnb can provide a different HTML code for the badges? Or if i can do anything else t get this badge onto my website?
Thanks for any help!
Hello @Braulio0 ,
Those badges generate the Airbnb-info with Javascript and if your provider does noet allow this kind of external scripts, it will not work. As an alternative you can create a testlink (or something more sophisticated with a picture etc..) with a link to your homepage at Airbnb, which is also showing some reviews. If you are allowed to use the html "iframe" code, you could even integrate the external link into your page. But i fear Wordpress does not allow this too, unless you upgrade to a higher plan.
Your homepage is: Home page
Your search page is: Search page
For spanish language page change ".com' to ".es" in the links
Do not use your profile page as a link, as listings will only be displayed if visitor is logged in at Airbnb.
Best regards,Emiel
Hello Emiel,
Good afternoon,
Thank you very much for your reply.
So what I do is create an image and insert an external link to Home page, is this correct?
Using this link the visitor does not need to be logged into airbnb? Just wanted to clarify that I have understood.
This seems to me the best way to go about it, thank you so much.
Hello @Braulio0 ,
Yes, it's like a normal external link from a text, or picture or whatever you like to create to attract people to "click on it". On the homepage everybody can see your listings, also when not logged in at Airbnb. You can try it yourself !
Best, Emiel
Dear all,
I've experienced the same problem met by Braulio.
I don't use wordpress having a website in hosting: the effect is the same.
I don't believe badges not working due to privacy policy in use: to prove it you can run Airbnb code by a simple online html/jv editor (e.g http://js.do/).
I think Airbnb should provide a bug fixing patch.
At the moment I'm following the workaround proposed by Emiel: in this case Airbnb should provide at least the icons.
Kind Regards
Gilberto
Hello @Gilberto24 ,
The badges do work for me, but as Airbnb regurarly updates their website, my impression is they forget the badges, leaving you frequently with temporary not working badges.
Your homepage is: Homepage (or maybe change ".com" for ".it" ?) . I suggest you to upload a cover photo to make it even more attractive (As @Braulio0 did allready for his homepage, see link above)
Best regard, Emiel
We have an external website, up until recently we had the 5 star badge pasted in html and in worked fine. Then one day it stopped working and we cannot get it working even after re-pasting the code. The directions are simple on airbnb's side (copy and paste) easy enough. Alas.. the codes (in our case do not work) this includes the calendar code as well.
Once we earned our Superhost status I had to google image the superhost badge to add to the site as that code did not work either. I am assuming that the badges work for many, but not everybody.
I have the some problem in my 4 Wix websites that used this code, all showing blanks. Definitely a problem that Airbnb isn't addressing fast enough, I guess they're not interested in us promoting our Airbnb listings outside of our Airbnb-provided links. Such a PITA.
i am facing this issue, badges html code doesnt work in my wordpress and yet my wordpress already upgraded to full bussiness plan. But in alternative i do it in mannual like this :

You can earn travel credit from being invited by a friend. To earn credit, the person being invited needs to:
<ul>
<li>Be new to Airbnb, and not already have an Airbnb account</li>
<li>Sign up through the invite link sent by their friend</li>
<li>Once you’re an Airbnb user, you can earn more credit by inviting friends.</li>

If you were invited by a friend:
<ul>
<li>Your travel credit will be automatically applied to your first qualifying reservation.</li>
<li>Your travel credit will automatically appear on the checkout page when you pay for your first reservation.</li>
<li>Your travel credit can only be used once. If you use travel credit on a reservation and then cancel that reservation, the travel credit can’t be used again.</li>
<li>You must have a qualifying reservation to be eligible for travel credit. A qualifying reservation must meet a minimum value, before any taxes or fees. Because the minimum amount can vary, you should refer to the invitation email you received or go to the invitation page to see which details about which reservations are eligible.</li>

Having the same issue, can concur that the badges provided don't work consistently. Can't get my listing to work at either a domain.com site, nor on my own webpages (hosted on a server I use at work) with minimal other content surrounding (basically just the normal html/body content plus then just the AirBnb badge, see www.nwcouncil.org/ext/test/emerson.html). A variety of jquery fetch errors prevent the badge from displaying. (They flash briefly, then the slew of error messages.) These should work on either http or https sites, if the latter is the problem, then a correction is needed for sure.
Regardless, something's broke in the jquery badge system, would like some resolution soon, as I'd like to embed my AirBnB listing for the spring.
My badges flicker on when the pages load then dissapear.
Same here, we try to place the Superhost badge on our website. Its not showing up and the browser console prints the "Error: `fetch` is not configured" message. I remember that we had similar issues 2-3 years ago with another badge which also wasnt working.
Its really a shame that the Airbnb staff is not fixing this after such a long time (or at least not in a way to prevent such errors)! I mean, its a BADGE!! Such a simple thing! I dont even understand why there is JavaScript needed. It could be a simple badge-image and some links to the profile...
Hi! If the problem is still there, try this cloud-based widget: https://elfsight.com/airbnb-reviews-widget/wordpress/ - personally, I like that it just works without problems and it's easily installed. Hope it helps.
