Guest refund

Greetings Airbnb,

Our ( mine and my mum's) guest said he had been at the place and no one answered him. But my mum was at home all the time. His booking was for one night only. I gave him my mums number and he never called back, or went back to the flat when I assured him that she was at home waiting for him and his friend. He is my tenth or so guest and is the first time this happen. I want to refund him even if I had some spendings like buying food for breakfast, cleaning and all that. 

 

Question: how do I refund him straight away ?

@Rita20, do not refund him. it's possible he's trying to scam you. Your address details were on his itinerary (sent by AirBnB), so there should be no reason he want to a wrong address. And the fact he didn't respond to your message is a flag.

 

Is he actually asking for a refund? If he is, instruct him to contact AirBnB.

 

If your communication with him was via the AirBnB site, this will leave a paper trail as well. AirBnB can then see your message that your mother was at home at the time the guest claimed to have arrived, and that you sent the guest the phone number.
