I've been a host for several years and it has always been great. I recently accepted a last minute (four days in advance) from a guest for three nights, even though I had a slightly uncomfortable feeling from his request. He did not leave much information -- usually guests say something nice or tell me why they want to come to my town -- but this was just an abrupt "I and a friend want to stay" message. Then today he asked for my name and address (but wouldn't he already have the address after booking?) in order to receive a package. I said no, and then canceled his booking right away. I really should have listened to my gut instinct before accepting!
But now, I am worried he might show up anyway and look for the key (that info would also be available to him after he booked, right?)
Airbnb waived my cancellation penalty because I've never canceled before, but I wonder if anyone has ever experienced a guest showing up AFTER THE HOST has had to cancel and what might be done to prevent it?
Thank you!
