Have Any Air B&B Hosts Been Contacted by NYC Officials re: Short Term Rentals of 1-2 Family Homes?

I've seen that there is a ton of confusion surrounding what is legal and illegal regarding short term rentals in NYC. I was curious if there were any hosts out there in the New York City area that have been reprimanded or fined by NYC officials, and if so, what were the details there.

Yes. The building and the fire departments summoned me for compliance. Did it happen to any other hosts in NYC?

Nothing yet. But what did the building Dept/ fire dept say? Did they fine you? Are you still able to list your place on Air B&B?

They told me to install automatic fire sprinkler system, portable fire extinguishers and hoses, fire alarm system.

Hey. What was the nature of your listing on airbnb? was it a 1 or 2 family? did you rent it out as an entire place or a private room?

Yea. I've been reading about it and it appears that the multiple dwelling law applies to units of 3 or more. Now, what about 1 or 2-family homes? It's all very confusing. It might be a good idea to speak with a lawyer at this point to avoid more significant issues with the city.
