Host cancelation

Hey,

My host cancelled my reservation and now I have a choice between getting a full refund and choosing a new place to rent (and get 40Euro extra for this). My question is, if I now want to rent a place that costs less than the previous one do I still get the bonus? And what happens to the difference in money (can I still get it as a refund)?

The compensation is to cover any extra cost involved in finding alternative accomodation.

If you pay less than Airbnb should refund you the difference between what you originally paid and the new place.

I wouldn't have thought you would get the 10% compensation, though as you won't be out of pocket, but I would suggest you ask Airbnb directly.
