So what the are the specifics inlcluded in ones lease that allow or deny them from hosting guests on airbnb. this is not my first experience, but my new apartment in ft lauderdale, fl says they do not allow residents to participate in airbnb and it says so in your lease contract. something to do with liabilty issues. i understand most management companies will say this, but, where in the lease does it specifically state against hosting guests other than subletting? can anyone help me with this?

Almost all long term rental contracts prohibit subletting of any type. Why ? The landlord wants to protect his / her property from other people damaging it.

in addition, it's highly unlikely that your or the landlords insurance would cover damage or liability from subletting or short term rental.
