I can see someone else's card added in my airbnb account

I noticed that only because I got a message from AirBnb that the system is not able to collect the payment for a reservation.

The notification mentioned a card ending 0275 which I never had in my possession and never added to my account. I checked my payment methods saved with AirBnb and noticed that the card I normally used has gone from my account. So looks like I was assigned someone else's card while my card has gone to someone else's account.

The customer service is trying to persuade me I added the card at some point (every time giving me different versions) but I have all payment receipts and can easily check I never paid with the mysterious card.

More - I own only one cc and I had it for many years, I never use debit card online, so I know very well which card I had saved in AirBnb account.

Looks to me like they have a mess in their payment system.

@Ewa54

Or your account was hacked and somebody else put the card in.

For what purpose?

You might have already checked to see if anyone has signed into your account recently

Maybe it is a stolen card added. Criminals tend to book a listing they will be beneficiaries of, using your account as camouflage to try to yield payment transfers before someone is alerted.

Perhaps if you use regularly the same email/password, your information may be breeched elsewhere.

@Ewa54    While you are waiting for Airbnb to sort this out, I would take a screenshot or save page as .pdf, of the erroneous card with date/time stamp, then delete it.  Then change your password ( in case it is hackers) and after that is done add the correct card.  If possible I would even change the email associated with the account.  It could be Airbnb, it could be hackers, do what you can to protect yourself.

My account wasn't hacked unless there is a data leak from airbnb system. And I will no more use my cc with airbnb that's for sure.

It's good practice to delete your card details and only add when performing a booking.

What if your credit card number is on someone else's air bnb and you didn't know until they purchased from your card how do I go about getting my card details off someone else's air bnb. @Ewa54
