Midwest smart pricing turned off due to flooding

Anyone else get an email about this this weekend?  Apparently no one knows how large the midwest region is and that flooding is not taking place all over.  I host in Kansas and we do not have flooding issues here.  Smart pricing was apaprently turned off for anyone in the whole midwest this weekend and my prices were even dropped below my minimum.  I went in to try and set my own static prices, but during this time a guest has made a booking for 5 nights (plus weekend) all nights at a rate below my minimum and without the higher weekend rates.  Ugh!  Who rolls out these stupid ideas?

@Lorie7

set your " base price" according to your average or your top price whether you use smart pricing or not, just to be sure in case another glitch happens in the future.

Call Airbnb to cancel this reservation without any penalties for you because it is not your fault.

A similar thing happened last year, I think due to the storm or wildfire, I don't remember anymore, when Airbnb canceled reservations far away from the affected area. They are not very precise as you also noticed.

I did have my base price set.  Followup...I called and the agent actually got my account credited for the lost revenue at the previous prices.  I have to say this was my first call to them and I was expecting the worst...but it was handled quickly and to my benefit.

Good lord, they've done it again. Don't any of the milennials on SF know how big the Midwest is ?! There is NO flooding in KS and now I will have to make ANOTHER call about this.
