More beds with a increase guests of vs a more stylish apartment

1. I have a 1bed rm with king bed my living room is cool and sheek am i better off putting in a day bed allowing me to sleep an additional 2 people which looks ok

Some people put a sofa bed in the living room, which can still look chic, but still gives them the ability to host more people.
