Payment by Guest upon making a reservation

I am new to Airbnb as a host and have a "confirmed" booking for December but am worried that I block it out and guest does not arrive! How soon after making a booking on Airbnb must the guest pay Airbnb? And do they pay them in full or just a deposit?

Hello @Ilse21 If the guest confirms his/her booking, they will be charged immediately for that reservation and the calendar will be blocked for them. If the stay is shorter than a month, they pay all the amount at that time.
