I am happy to accept single night bookings but have to charge a supplement for these. How come Airbnb cannot add a charge for those bookings automatically? It's a pretty basic feature to add to the booking system and would save me and them a lot of hassle. Initially I was advised to reject booking requests for single nights and make the guests a special offer. I was then told that I was bein penalised as I rejected too many booking requests! I was then advised that I should accept instant bookings and request an additional payment for the single night supplement. I have had lots of complaints from potential guests as they do not want to make a separate payment when airbnb did not include that in the quote. I then end up contacting airbnb and the guest and they cancel in a lot of cases. It's a total waste of everyone's time. It would take a software engineer a couple of hours to implement this.
Airbnb would end up with a lot more single night bookings rather than giving the local hotels that business. What does everyone else do?
If you add a cleaning fee to your listing this will create a "supplement" for single night bookings- as the overall cost for a single night plus cleaning fee is then higher than say the cost of 5 nights with a cleaning fee absorbed across all 5 nights.
I have a small cleaning fee, and for me this makes the cost of dealing with single night bookings when they come up still worth it with the linens change etc etc.
my single night supplement is £80. If I get a booking for 2 nights it's 2x£110. If I added a cleaning fee to that then it would be too expensive. I don't think there is the option to add a discount for 2 nights, is there?
