Smoke detector was stolen

Hello evrybody! 

Although I have had nice experiences as airbnb host (like meeting people from around the world and making new friends), I would like your help with somehting negative this time.

I had a host (he seemed to be very nice). When he left and my co-host picked up the keys the room was smelling like tabacco (strongly) and so, he did not follow the rules of the house... ANYWAY... the problem is that when I came back home few weeks later I noticed he tooked the smoke detector with him (I hav elooked in my home and I cannot find it). I cannot think of a reason why he would take it???!!! But I am sure he did it (I live alone at home).

What shall I do? 

I do not want any other host to suffer this (I saw he had a bad previous review but I thought he is just a little bit dirty... but a thief???) 😮

I sincerely belive on sharing places... confidence and security on the other. That is why I think something must be done in this case, so all the rest of people can book or host places safely.

Well, it is up to you. That you want to ask them about the detector or you want to buy a new one.
If someone has stolen, then, there would be two reasons, either they will sell it and get money or then want a detector for their house.
