pricing for specific weekend

We are new to hosting and have set up a week where our price is higher because of a festival in town.  we just got a request for booking at our usual rate instead of the listed rate. How does this happen?  How can I fix it??  I'm embarrassed for the person requesting as it's a big price difference and they'll probably not book at the higher price but IDK how the set price i listed was overwritten?  I have turned off smart pricing previously.

As you do not provide details how you setup the special price, it is not easy to give an answer. But in most cases the host is making a mistake. But what you offer to the guest can not be changed, an offer is an offer !

Next time control your listing after making such adjustment, to check it works like expected.
