Adding a second guest for part of a booking

I had a question from a guest who is staying for a month while he looks for work. He is planning to bring his wife towards the end of the month, and wants to know if he can add her to the last week of the booking.

It looks like a second guest can't be added for just part of the booking--or is there some way to do that which I'm missing?

In the mean time, I advised him to make two bookings--one for when he's here by himself, and one for when he and his wife are here together.
