Another example of why the star rating does not work:
A guest gave lower than 5 stars for location and put his reason for the lower stars in the private feedback:
"No fault of the hosts whatsoever. I misjudged the distance to the apartment and need more time to know my way around. Translation......I kept getting lost. ”
Exactly! People have different definitions for star ratings. Just like how a lot of guests do not read the listing descriptions or house rules before they book, they just assign whatever star rating they want - and don't care about how it will be factored into the algorithm, in terms of host assessment.
I had exactly the same issue with some clueless guests - this time on check-in. They even said it in their review - no fault of the host 🙂 I needed a good laugh after that one.
