Discussion: Any Bed bug prevention tips and ideas?

Hello Everyone, 

I am a new host to Airbnb. One of the things that crosses my mind is bed bug prevention. I have never had bed bugs, but I have heard that they are hard  ( and expensive) to get rid of.

I was reaching out to the community to see how other hosts prevent bed bugs?

I use bedbug traps under the mattresses, and check them with each linen change. There are a few different kinds - an internet search will turn up a bunch of different ones. 

Early identification helps a lot.

I was worried about the same thing, since i had all new mattresses and was worried about people plopping their luggage on the bed. I bought bedbug protectant mattress covers for each of my queen sized beds.  Not only does it keep the mattresses bedbug free, but it keeps your guests from staining them for any reason.  I highly recommend,  it will extend the life of your mattress. I bought mine on Amazon.
