Recently my cancellation setting was mysteriously changed from strict to flexible without my knowledge, has anyone else had this happen? I found this out because I just lost a 600€ booking the day before! I can't see anyway to contact Airbnb about this so am completely in the dark as to how this happened.
I see that the policy for one listing is strict and for the other listing is flexible, @Maya69, but I am not clear how that issue affected the booking loss or maybe you meant that it came to your attention because of a cancellation. Anyway, contact Air BNB and they can see the timing of the reservation change whether the system was at fault in allowing the full refund. Here is a guide for contacting Air BNB. Good luck!!
Yes Linda, it came to my attention because of a cancellation so I checked the setting, discovered it was wrong and changed it back immediately. I didn't realise that both my bookings had been changed to flexible!! Both now set back to strict. Thanks for spotting that! I am now in contact with Airbnb and have requested the timing of the change.
4 months ago my IB setting was changed by airbnb from "5 star" guests only to anyone. That resulted in a cancellation for totally inappropriate guests with no reviews and a lot of discussion with airbnb so it wouldn't show on my record. I just discovered that my cleaning free disappeared! It got reset from $50 to none. How does this stuff happen??? Are there major software updates we should be alerted to? Or, I guess, just constantly check your listing to make sure changes haven't been made for you.
