Host Guarantee - Does it work?

Hi community, 

I am a fairly recent co-host (started in Jan 2018) and have had decent guests so far. But as in any business, I am certain that I am going to face situations where there would be disputes with customers (guests in this case). One of the main reasons I decided to go with airbnb is because of the host guarantee it provides. I must admit that I took their literature for it and never bothered to reasearch till now. Now, after having gone through several posts here, I am caught in 2 minds. What would be reassuring for me would be instances and examples where airbnb has paid out compensation based on their host guarantee - Specifially sums/amounts larger than $10000. Smaller amounts are easier to settle, I would like to know about larger amount disputes. Kindly share instances where you had to make claims larger than this amount and the outcome.
