How to disable insta book?

I can't figure out for the life of me how to disable insta book on my listing? This article does not match my settings:
https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/484/what-is-instant-book

All i'm trying to do is manually approve or decline guests. From what i understand, insta-book automatically approves guests. Am I missing something?

This is ridiculous, I have gone round in circles for the past 2 hours looking at how to disable this feature.  I can not find any options on my listing to do it.  I am so annoyed I feel like cancelling the account.  Why bother having a help page that points you to something that I simply can't do!!

I also see exactly what @Adam described.  I also tried clicking the lightening bolt, nothing happens.

Seems I have to take instant bookings or cancel the account?

This is the first time I have put up a property with Airbnb and I am disappointed with the help features.  If anyone manages to find a way to do this, please share!

@Lisa131 Since this is a new listing, Instant Booking is not yet available, which is why there's nowhere to enable/disable it.

@Ed-and-Hugh0 I think you're missunderstanding. Insta booking IS enabled and we can't disable it.

I thought that initially, @Ed-and-Hugh0 but why then when I view my listing does it state that I have instant booking?

@Lisa131 Have you tried both the mobile app and the full web site? Sometimes it works better on one vs. the other.

@Ed-and-Hugh0  I downloaded the app and have searched all of the settings and I still can't see anywhere to disable the intant booking.   where would you normally find this within the app?

@Ed-and-Hugh0 The suggestion to try the phone app is brilliant. It will be interesting to hear from some of the people experiencing this issue if that can be a solution. @Eldo0@Kevin62@Lisa131@Michelle103 Can you try that? To get to the IB setting in the app (iPhone at least, I can't speak for Android phones), tap the second icon from the left at the bottom, then open your listing. Scroll down to find Instant Book.

Fingers crossed!

No such option on my android app 😕

Hi

we've just added a brand new listing for the first time on our account and instant booking is switched on, even though we didn't want it. we can't see where to switch this off either! We've followed all the instructions, but the option is simply not there!

@Eldo0@Kevin62@Lisa131,

In french CC many new host have the same problem, even in twitter new users ask how to do. You wil need to contact CS in order to know if it's a technical issue or a new experiment.

Let us know about.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for starting this discussion here. I have been feeding back your comments to the team and I have received a response to this which I wanted to pass on to you:

'As we advance in our abilities to match hosts and guests, we are working on developing Instant Book so that it's helpful to everyone. As part of our efforts to learn from hosts and improve the feature, select new hosts can only share spaces that are Instant Book listings. If you have feedback about Instant Book, share it with us.'

I understand you may have many thoughts on this and I would encourage you to share your feedback via the link above which will go back to the Product Team.

Thanks,

Lizzie

This is the most insane experiment I ever heard about.

This is the most ridiculous non-response I've ever read.

hello, i just signed up at airbnb and am already questioning if this was the right thing to do. I do not want to be forced to have an instant booking (Sofortbuchung). I have a full time job and plans change day to day, which doesn't mean i want to no use airbnb when it suits my life.

I have read a lot of blogs about this now and you have made a lot of hosts angry ... is this really how you want to do business? Wouldn't it be better to give the host the option to choose? If he/she doesn't offer the instant booking, then it's his/her loss of not making as much business as they could ... but it fits better into their life ...

as i said, i am really angry and am thinking of signing off ...

I like the option to only allow instant booking for guests who are recommended by others. I don't really mind instant booking in general (I don't think), but I would like to have some restrictions as to who can do it. There are so many people who are new to airbnb, have limited profiles, and not many verifications. I would like to see a bit more of that before approving their booking... But people with reviews feel like less of a risk for me. For me though, I'm in the boat of having ZERO options for instant booking. It's completely enabled and seemingly no restrictions or ability to turn off.
