Instant book- house rules

Is there a way to use instant book but still have a way to reject guests? I have very clearly in my rules that I do not accept single guys, however they still try to book. I want to make it easy for guests but not sure what to do about this.

Thanks for any advice

Hi @Kristin2, yours is a very interesting question.  By definition, guests are required to agree to your house rules before booking on IB, but if you say no single men and they  book under IB anyway, that puts you in the position of having to cancel.  You only have 3 penalty free cancellations per year, so that's no good.  I tried to see what settings you could use for Instant Book, but the page isn't there.  AGH!

My best advice to you if you get frequent reservations from people you don't want, i.e. single men, would be to turn off Instant Book.

Of course you can contact @Airbnbhelp on twitter (fastest way) or use the Contact Us link to see if there is a work around for your situation.  If there is, please advise since I would like to know the answer too!

@Kristin2:

I would consider adding your gender requirement to the house rules. I quickly glanced your listing and in viewing it quickly, I also missed it. Went back and read it more carefully. I know ideally we want our guests to read our listing thoroughly BUT the reality is they don't always-especially those using instant book. If this is a big concern, I would mention this is a "Female Guest Friendly Only Listing" a couple of times in the listing in hopes that the guest will catch it.

I completely understand your concern. I would still reach out to Airbnb and ask for their advice on how to word it. Honestly, you may want to include it in your Summary- and hopefully more guests will see/read your gender preference.
