It is too risky for me as a host to rent through Airbnb

I won't rent anymore through Airbnb...

I had a bad experience for which I clearly wasn't responsible.

Anyway, Airbnb made a debit of 800€ on my credit card, by their own decision.

This is just not acceptable, if Airbnb decides to make a debit of any amount, they can do, just by their own decision!!

Airbnb, never again!!!

Can you explain why Jean? It's difficult to know what to do or say without knowing what happened. Sorry to hear about your problem.

As an host you have to give your credit card to AIrbnb, who can decide be their own to make a debit on your card, even you do not agree, if somethng happens. I do not agree with this method. I rent rooms in hotels since around 30 years I never had such surprise. Here after 2 rental I got an additionnal debit of 280€ just because the owner wanted to have new paint for free on his flat located below the flat I rented.
