I had this exact same thing with my first one or two guests... i was so miffed..i did email him and he as a host himself of a big business with staff was expecting me as a life in host to have same level of 24hr reception etc.. he said he was putting stars up for what my home could be in the future!...omg!.. i said you read my listing so how can you say it was inaccurate to what you booked. After this time i got a couple of lower scores for my cleanilness... i am ocd clean..lol. As everyone knows. One couple who were extremely messy, who also had baby left 3 stars.. i was incredulous. when i mailed them, they said no way, if we could have put 6 stars we would have, its a mistake. He asked repeatedly if he could change it. I messaged airbnb to contact him and another woman who said she was being harsh and would like to change!.. airbnb did contact them and change the stars but said would not do this in the future. funnily enough, although i have changed nothing as i am super communicative, very detailed in my listing, very clean etc i have always gotten 5 stars. But initial guest have keep my overall rating to 4.5 stars. It is hard to climb back it seems!..
Also i think now the stars guest give are not showing. It is upsetting i guess and airbnb have decided to take down??. i am glad the guests do not see our ratings on them..lol
