Srtict cacellation policy, same day cancellation

My guest booked apartment 10-12 October, but cancelled it in the morning of 10th October (8 hours before check-in). I have a strict cancellation policy, which according to Airbnb rules means that guest gets 50 % refund up until 1 week prior to arrival, except fees. Airbnb refunded the guest 50 %. Is that right or has Airbnb made a mistake?

By right, the guest will not get any refund 1 week from arrival date.

I've noticed the cancelled fees don't post until the date the guest would have checked in if they hadn't cancelled--give it a day and check, you may get the other 1/2.  Also check your email--its possible that the guest cancelled earlier but you noticed it on check-in day when they sent the 50% fee.
